Hey Every one today is the first day of our blog, YEAH!!! We often times don't get the credability we really do deserve. Kalista has been around for 12 years now and I heard a roomer the Kalista USED to be good but has gone down hill. Today I would say our staff is actually better then the one over on Burnside,

Yes I would agree that the first year moving into the pearl it was challenging to say the very least, we had a staff of girls that did not want to move to the pearl and we had to start over fresh and train a whole new team of girls, some of our clients didn't want to follow us across the river so we where essentially a new business again, and YES it has taken some time to fine tune this staff, train and educate them. One thing people may not know about me is that I train all these girls, so the staff that was at the old location where in deed trained by me. This staff we have, again was trained by me 5 years later with 5 years more education.

I have traveled to Amsterdam because I was chosen as one of the top best 25 hairdressers. So they have the knowledge and experience I know trained to them. :), And as far as the Esthetic and Nail dept did you all know that I have my masters certificates for Endermology, and Nail technican? I also have taken advanced classes on waxing and facials. So I as well train them on these things too. Everyone that gets hired has to take a class with me lasting about 3 days total on the salon.

I still love coming to work every day but it is so sad that we often get some neg reviews. We really try our best to do the best job we can and we do everything to make you happy!

What an amazing day!!! We had to most wonderful clients today!! The sweetest woman with her two kids came in and got feathers and where just adorable! Then a client of mine stopped in to bring me some flyers for her new up and coming opera.. November 27th free admission!! The staff is super stocked for Saturday night at Aura and a fun filled evening that should be! WE have two of our hairdressers doing some practicals to see if they can move up to senior stylist today.. We will see how that goes. YEAH!!

Just google searched Yelp and indeed they are under investigation for removing good reviews from businesses sites unless you pay them otherwise. I decided to see if it was true and wrote a review myself on there under my own name and really it was not to say anything except that I was the owner and I feel like our staff is wonderful... blah blah right? Well it was removed less then 12 hours later. My clients have gone on there and done reviews and they get removed. We have had clients in general go on there and write good reviews and they get removed. Its crazy!! Anyway I feel better knowing that this is not just an isolated incident but it is really happening to alot of people. Its sad

WOW what a month, our staff has grown so much and with that it has been truely amazing!! Our clients are alot happier I think now that we have added the comment cards at the front desk giving them the opportunity to voice there oppinion right away and let us know how we can serve them better! Thank you to all our clients that brought us gifts and cards we love you all so much and can not wait till next year to bring you even a better and more inspired Kalista team!! Muah!!!!!!

Off to Vegas.. The staff is taking a quick vacation at the end of this month and we are all going to vegas!! I love being a part of such an amazing staff!! We have had some challenges with the groupons expiring and ppl becoming super rude to us. But we have to shake it off and say tomorrow is another day and all we can do is do our best and try our hardest!!
