I run the salon along with Riann the Spa Manager. Kalista is the name of the salon, means Beautiful in Greek. 

A lot of people think we are a corporate salon, but the truth is we are just the opposite! We do have that day spa feel, but without the awful attitude. I have been doing hair for 11 years now, I'm a certified hair colorist of Oregon, this means I have done advanced hair color and style education, leaving me one of the best in Oregon for color and cuts.  I love doing hair and it is the most rewarding thing for me to do.

I have two dogs I adore. I do Yoga every day as well as work out. This helps to keep my mind focused on my talents. I'm fully vegan and so are my dogs. I have a strong desire to stop cruelty to animals, domestic or caged.

It's harder to write something about myself so i will leave it at this. I love my staff, I love to come to work and these people could not be any more talented!!!!

Is a native Oregonian, returning recently from four years on the east coast.  He is stoked to be back in the great Northwest, and to be working with a great staff and the incredible Kim.  He is an equity actor (with over  300 productions under his belt), an avid reader, fisherman, and movie buff.  But his greatest enjoyment in life is spending time with his amazing wife Kate, beautiful daughter Ella, and their dog Satchmo and cat Cosmo.

Hey I'm Adele and I came to Kalista Salon and Spa as a fully licensed Cosmetologist. I have a fun love for hair, esthetics and nails. I have always had a fun and creative knack when it comes to creative cuts, highlights and fun colors. When it comes to esthitics I love to wax, Im fast and efficiant and have fun doing it. And who doesnt love pedicures and manicures? I love doing french tips and fun colors. I grew up in a small town and have been loving the city since I moved up here. Outside of work i love to throw ceramics. So come pay me a visit. I cant wait to meet you!

 I consider my work to be amazing. I try really hard to listen to what the client wants and give them exactly what they ask for. I'm pretty good with figuring out what it is you want even when you do not know what it is. My biggest love is runway work, and fashion shows. LOVE LOVE fashion colors and creative work with clients. OMG! I go crazy when someone wants something out of the box and super edgy. I specialize in problematic hair, if you are loosing it, or you have been to all the best hairdressers and still can't get it right, or if you have the haircut or color from $%^& I am the one you go to! I have been doing hair for 10 years, I'm the founder and the one and only owner. I love what I do and that is why I still do hair about 30 hours a week as well as run the salon.

I love my staff, I love to come to work and these people could not be any more talented!!!!

Hi!  I'm Iz, and I am thrilled to be working downtown, after ten years away!  I bring seventeen years as a hair professional, specialized training as a colorist, and a genuine excitement for plant-based hair care.
     Visiting metropolitan areas gives my work a sense of scope.
     I recognize the importance of artistry in all salon work, and love to reveal the hidden--what's inside the hairshape, waiting to come out?  How can I make you look more like you?
     Color is a great way to give texture and body to the hair, not just to cover grey.  But, it shouldn't be a lifetime commitment (unless you're looking for commitment--and, I ought to be committed).
     Continuing education is the key to long-term client-retention.  Not just, "what's the new look;" but, "how can I adapt that for this client?"  I love the constant challenge of doing something new for a returning client.  That's what keeps every interaction fresh and vital.  And, that's what keeps clients coming back!

Kelly: Senior stylist

Recently located tfrom Austin, Texas, Kelly is glad to call Portland her new home. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Texas, Kelly began to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a hairstylist. She completed a year long internship at one of the most prestigious salons in Austin before becoming a stylist in her own right. Kelly specializes in women's and men's cut and color and she is a make-up artist as well. Her favorite things to do are women's short cuts, highly texturized and punk rock styles as well as colors for men and women. She will give you a gorgeous head of highlights! Kelly enjoys spending time with her cats, pilates and reading. She is always game for a good ghost story and 2 fancies herself an amateur foodie.

Carlee: Massage Therapist

Hey there!  My name is Carlee and I am also a native Oregonian like a few of the other staff members here at Kalista.  I've spent most of my life living in the Portland area with the exception of junior high and high school where I lived in a town of about 600 people and graduated with a class of 17!  I love the city and Oregon despite how much I say I hate the rain, I guess all the greenery is worth it.  I've played on a co-ed softball team with a group of my friends in the Underdog League for the last 2 years and play volleyball as well.  We don't get a whole lot of winning done but we get a whole lot of laughing done, and it's a lot of fun.  I became a massage therapist because learning the anatomy & physiology of the human body is extremely interesting to me.  I found how amazing it is to be able to manipulate muscle tissue and the positive effects it has on a person's body and health.  I specialize in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Shiatsu massage modalities so come visit me at this wonderful spa, I would love to see your beautiful face!
