Kalista is the name of the salon, means Beautiful in Greek. 

A lot of people think we are a corporate salon, but the truth is we are just the opposite! We do have that day spa feel, but without the awful attitude. We only hire the best in the industry and often if someone no longer works for us it is because they failed to reach the standards we have placed for for the salon.

Hi i'm Cristina the salon manager. Born and raised in Michigan I grew up loving the outdoors but always knew I wanted to live in a more colorful city. I've been working here now in Portland for three years and love it, absolutely love it! I've been working in the salon and spa industry for 7 years and really believe I found my nitch. I truly believe a business needs to put the customer first. I am so happy I found Kalista salon and day spa and I work amazing talented people and a wonderful owner. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face and love my job and what I do.

Four year universities and a bachelor degree was pounded into my head while in high school. After years of research, accounting was my first choice of a career. After taking two years of accounting. I decided it wasn't for me. Thanks to one of my favorite teachers, she really saw that I was a much more creative person and knew I did hair on the side for all my friends, and asked why I wasn't pursuing a career in Hair, I realized that was more of a career path I would be happy on, I became a hairdresser. Learning very quickly I was a natural at it. I love what I do and the reactions and joy it brings my clients. I specialize in Weaves, Color, Braids, and Hair extensions. Cuts of course are also one of the things I love about hair!!
